Brava: People complain about the lack of thousand escudo banknotes in ATM machines

Nova Sintra, May 14 (Inforpress)- The residents of the island of Brava today complained about the lack of 1,000 escudo notes in the island's ATMs and also called for modern machines that make different amounts available, just like in other municipalities in the country.

Speaking to Inforpress, local resident João Baptista Rodrigues pointed out that for over a month now, the ATMs on the island have not been making 1,000 escudos notes available and this has been inconvenient for customers.

According to the same source, the three banks in the municipality that have the machines, apart from being old, are not making these banknotes available.

‘They said that the thousand escudo banknotes that are circulating on the island are old and that's why they're not being put into the machine. But I think they should solve this problem as soon as possible because it's necessary and on the other islands the modern machines even have 500 escudo notes available,’ he said.
