Nova Sintra, Jun 24 (Inforpress) – The mayor of the City Hall of Brava, Francisco Walter Tavares, believes that the gains achieved in the island since 1992, the time of the first local elections and the creation of the county, are “incontrovertible, incontestable and significant” in all areas.
Francisco Tavares made these considerations in an interview with Inforpress about the commemorations of the 27 years existance of the municipality, which is celebrated today, June 24.
“In 1992, the island’s situation was precarious in almost all sectors. The electric cover was only in a part of the current city of Nova Sintra and in a small part of Nossa Senhora do Monte, which at the time, was not yet a Village”, said the mayor.
He recalled that, at that time, it was only available from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., accounting for a total of five hours a day, and at the moment, they went to a total of 100% coverage in all locations and in about 90% of inhabited dwellings.
