Boa Vista: Paulo Veiga promises to improve ice production and recover fish Market

Sal-Rei, Apr 11 (Inforpress) – The Secretary of State for the Maritime Economy, Paulo Veiga, established “as a priority” to arrange ice machines to strengthen the fish’s conservation capacity in Boa Vista Island.

During a meeting with the Fishmongers and Fishermen Association of Boa Vista (APPBV), where he will spend three days in order to find out about the main constraints of the fishing sector, he learned about the lack of a machine for production and conservation of fish and improvement of fish market facilities.

APPBV representatives also say they have a need for a registered office, questioned the capacity of the available vessels, purchase and use of appropriate equipment for each type of fishing, and the constraints to legalize and request a license for industrial fishing.

Facing these constraints, Paulo Veiga presented as a priority “to fix existing machines” and also to “strengthen the capacity” of ice production and fish conservation.
