Praia, Dec 4 (Inforpress) – FAO Representative in Cabo Verde, Ana Touza, Tuesday called for the integration of all blue economy initiatives into a single coordination framework to maximize resources, promote inclusion and reduce inequalities.
The official was speaking at the end of the workshop on National Blue Economic Investment Plan (PNIEA), held in Praia, with the objective of identifying projects and investments aligned with the principles of blue economic and which should be included in the first plan. Ana Touza reiterated FAO’s “strong engagement” in the realization of this transition process from Cabo Verde to the blue economy.
“We call for the need to promote the integration of all initiatives into a single cordination framework to maximize resources, promote inclusion, reduce inequalities and achieve greater participation and ownership of all spheres of society,” she said.
Ana Touza believes that sustainability can be ensured for the sake of Cabo Verde and future generations, in strict compliance with the Sustainable Development Strategic Plan (PEDS) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and strict compliance with the 2030 agenda.
