Baía das Gatas Festival: Black Side Returns, Lisandro Cuxi Makes His Debut, and MC Cabelinho Closes Out the Event

Mindelo, Aug. 10 (Inforpress) – The 42nd edition of the Baía das Gatas International Festival came to a close on the evening of Sunday, Aug. 9, with the return of Black Side, the debut of young artist Lisandro Cuxi, and a performance by Brazilian rapper MC Cabelinho.

Black Side was the first band to take the stage last night, marking their return to the Baía das Gatas Festival after several years away.

Amid the music and lyrics, the audience responded to the group’s performance, singing along to some of the songs and keeping pace with the rhythm in a show that brought together different generations connected to hip hop made in Cabo Verde.

The group demonstrated the versatility that has always defined it by performing songs such as “Oiá pa Povo,” “Black Man,” “África,” “Tcham Vivê,” “Nhas M’Nininha,” and “Convivência,” among others.
