Athletics: Samuel Freire wins Macau International Half Marathon and Sandra Freire finishes in the second place

Praia, Dec 2 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verdean international athlete Samuel Freire won the 38th Macau International Half Marathon on Sunday and Sandra Freire took second place in the women’s race.

According to the official results published by the race organization, Samuel Freire was ranked first in his category and fourth overall with a time of 1 hour, 08 minutes and 09 seconds, while Sandra Freire was runner-up in half marathon and eighth overall table.

The two Creole athletes resident in Portugal thus confirmed the good performance of Cabo Verde in this event, as, annually, the representatives of this archipelago rise to the podium of this crowded event that takes place in this autonomous region of China.

For the Cabo Verdean Athletics Federation, “given the degree of difficulty coupled with the quality of the competitors, it was undoubtedly the best ever performance of Cabo Verde in this event”.
