Athletics: Luso-Cabo Verdean qualify for Olympic Games in Tokyo in triple jump

Praia, Jun 5 (Inforpress) – The Luso-Cabo Verdean athlete Evelise Veiga has qualified for the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020 in the Triple Jump, with the mark of 14.32 meters established Sunday in the “Meeting of Maia Athletics”, in the City of Sports of Portugal.

The Cabo Verdean Athletics Federation rejoiced at this achievement, so “send the congratulations and augur successes in the career to this Creole who was born in the islands”.

Evelise Veiga, 23, Portuguese national born in Cabo Verde, is an athlete of Sporting Clube de Portugal, a specialist in long jump and triple jump.

She joined the ranks of Sporting de Portugal, although she started her career in the Social and Parochial Club Paulo Sixth and representes the Juventude Vidigalense for six seasons.
