Praia, Jun 11 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean Association for the Fight against Gender-Based Violence (ACLCVBG) has delivered a letter of commitment and action plan to the Prime Minister this Monday with recommendations to be implemented in the combat against GBV and promotion of gender equality.
Speaking to the press, the president of the ACLCVBG general assembly, Antonieta Martins, explained that the letter of commitment and the action plan came out of the international conference on gender-based violence (GBV) held on May 15 and 16, in partnership with the Presidency of the Republic, the Embassy of Luxembourg in Cabo Verde and the Cabo Verdean Institute for Gender Equity and Equility (ICIEG).
“There were great reflections that were made by several national and international partners who were present. The internationals brought their experience in this area and we, internally, openly discussed several issues as well as corrective measures to assess the issue of GBV in Cabo Verde”, said Antonieta Martins.
The meeting served to outline lines of action to improve the situation of GBV in Cabo Verde.
