UNICEF Cabo Verde has been awarded the “Silver Baobab” for its key achievements in the 2022–2025 cycle

Praia, 21 May (Inforpress) – On Wednesday 20 May, UNICEF Cabo Verde received the Silver Baobab Award, presented by the UNICEF Regional Office for West and Central Africa in recognition of its performance in achieving Key Results during the 2022–2025 cycle.

According to information released by the organisation, the award of the Silver Baobab confirms that Cabo Verde has achieved 66% of the targets set out in the four KRCs established for that period.

The Key Results for Children (KRC) included the achievement of KRC1 (Survival and Health), the aim of which was to ensure that all children had access to quality healthcare, including vaccination, adequate nutrition and a reduction in infant mortality.

This result also includes KRC2 (Education and Development), which aims to ensure that children, particularly the most vulnerable, complete a cycle of quality basic education, with a particular focus on pre-school education and age-appropriate literacy.
