Praia, May 14 (Inforpress) – Today, the Psychologist Melanie Oliveira stated in Praia that the Maio Furta-Cor campaign aims to strengthen prevention, promotion and awareness of maternal mental health in Cabo Verde, with a focus on postpartum depression and support for pregnant women.
The statement was made during an activity held at Fazenda Health Centre as part of the campaign dedicated to maternal mental health in the country.
According to the specialist, the initiative seeks to help pregnant women identify emotional, psychological and physical symptoms during pregnancy and after childbirth, while also encouraging greater involvement of partners in medical consultations.
Speaking to Inforpress, Melanie Oliveira explained that signs such as loss of appetite, insomnia, difficulty concentrating, social isolation, deep sadness, crying spells and emotional changes may indicate depression and other psychological disorders.
