Praia, May 14 (Inforpress) – The associations Acarinhar and Adevic today praised the importance of the protocol signed with the National Electoral Commission (CNE) within the framework of the “Accessible Voting” initiative, enabling the exercise of voting rights with equality and dignity.
The president of the Association of Families and Friends of Children with Cerebral Palsy (Acarinhar), Teresa Mascarenhas, considered the protocol a reason for “great satisfaction”, highlighting the importance of turning inclusion into concrete actions, as it facilitates voting for people with disabilities and reduced mobility.
“It is good that we begin removing barriers. We know that people with disabilities or reduced mobility face many difficulties, and voting is a right that every citizen has, regardless of their physical condition,” she stated.
Teresa Mascarenhas also reaffirmed the association’s commitment to mobilising its beneficiaries so that they can participate under equal conditions with other citizens.
