Writer Paulo Ferreira Veríssimo launches his second book of poetry, centred on an “inner journey”

Praia, April 3 (Inforpress) – Writer Paulo Ferreira Veríssimo announced today the launch, in June or July, of his second book of poetry, a work he describes as a “journey to the interior” marked by childhood memories, tributes and reflections.

Speaking to Inforpress, the author explained that the work entitled “A Poet’s Notebooks – Tales of an Inner Life” had been in the writing process even before the publication of his first book, which was launched on 20 April 2023 in the city of Praia.

According to the writer, the title came about after a meeting with Domingos Cardoso, also a writer, in which the latter considered that his texts would make "a good notebook," an idea that, he emphasized, ended up inspiring the title of the work.

Comprising 40 poems, 30 written in Cape Verdean Creole and 10 in Portuguese, the book presents itself as an artistic expression deeply connected to the author's identity and personal experience.
