Praia, April 2 (Inforpress) - Cape Verdean singer Mário Lúcio has released the album "Antologia Pessoal: Mar e Terra" (Personal Anthology: Sea and Land), the first of a series of five albums planned for this semester, bringing together names from Brazilian music such as Djavan, Milton Nascimento and Paulinho da Viola.

On his official website, the singer explains that his new album reinforces the long-standing cultural ties between Cabo Verde and Brazil, blending traditional genres such as morna, funaná, batuco and coladeira with elements of jazz, MPB and Latin music.

The standout track is “Hino à Gratidão”, recorded with Djavan, highlights the composer, who, with this release, reaffirms his established reputation as one of the most important figures on the archipelago’s cultural scene.

According to Mário Lúcio, "Sea and Land" represent the central forces in the formation of Cape Verdean identity, a tribute to his roots, to the masters who influenced him, and to the connections built throughout his journey.
