São Vicente: Government promotes event on cinema, technology and the creative future

Mindelo, 13 Mar (Inforpress) – The Government will hold on Saturday, the 14th, in Mindelo, the event “Mindelwood – Cinema, Technology and the Creative Future”, in order to create a space for reflection and capacity-building on the role of digital technologies in contemporary artistic creation, particularly in the audiovisual sector.

According to a note from the executive, the initiative will take place at the Cabo Verde Technology Park – Mindelo Hub, within the framework of Digital Week, and aims to establish a bridge between the city’s cinematic history and the new opportunities opened by digital technology.

The objective, according to the same source, is to encourage the development of creative skills and strengthen Cabo Verde’s potential in the production of audiovisual and digital content.

“The city of Mindelo has a century-old cinematic tradition, which dates back to the arrival of the first cinematograph on the island in 1913, and to the inauguration, in 1922, of the historic Éden Park, considered the cinema with the longest uninterrupted activity in the Lusophone world,” the Government recalled.
