São Vicente: Amarante Noble Hall hosts the V Gabriel Borges Chess Tournament

Mindelo, 13 Mar (Inforpress) – Grémio Desportivo Amarante informed today that it will host, starting Saturday the 14th, in its noble hall, the 5th edition of the Chess Tournament that celebrates the memory and legacy of the club’s co-founder Gabriel Borges.

The competition, organised by Grémio Desportivo Amarante together with the family of Gabriel Borges, will this year adopt an ‘open’ format, being open to the participation of all players registered with the Cabo Verdean Chess Federation.

According to a note from the organisation sent to Inforpress, this edition, which runs until 18 March, gains an even more special dimension with the confirmed participation of chess players from other islands, namely Santiago and Sal.

“The presence of these athletes strengthens the bonds of friendship and camaraderie that unite communities around chess, promoting sporting exchange and healthy interaction among all participants,” highlighted the same note.
