Cabo Verde and Portugal sign memorandum of understanding in the maritime sector

Mindelo, 11 Mar (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde and Portugal will sign today, in São Vicente, a memorandum of understanding in the maritime sector, a document aimed at strengthening institutional, technical and scientific cooperation between the two countries.

According to a government note, the agreement will be signed by the Minister of the Sea, Jorge Santos, and the Portuguese Secretary of State for Fisheries, Salvador Malheiro, who is visiting the island of São Vicente.

The memorandum aims to promote knowledge sharing, the sustainable development of marine resources and the strengthening of institutional capacities in the sector.

Before the signing, the Portuguese Secretary of State for Fisheries will be received by the Minister of the Sea for a courtesy visit, a meeting that will allow “strengthening political and institutional dialogue between the two countries”.
