Women’s Football: Sports community surprised and outraged by secrecy surrounding national team friendly in Morocco

City of Praia, 10 Mar (Inforpress) – The sports community is reacting with surprise and indignation to the fact that the Cape Verde women’s national football team travelled to Morocco for a preparation match for CAN 2026 (3–0 defeat) without any public communication.

What is certain is that Cabo Verde’s women’s national team went to Morocco where, on Saturday the 7th, they lost to the Moroccan hosts 3–0 in a friendly match played at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium.

According to the Moroccan sports press, Nouhaila Benzina in the 22nd minute, Ibtissam Jraidi in the 40th minute, and Sanaa Mssoudy scored the goals for the Moroccan national team.

On social media there have been numerous criticisms from football fans who were taken by surprise by this match of the women’s national team.
