City of Praia, 09 Mar (Inforpress) – The Trade Union Association of Judges of Cabo Verde (ASJCV) will propose to the International Union of Portuguese-Speaking Judges the creation of a women’s cell to promote discussion of issues specific to female magistrates, its president announced today.

Evandro Rocha spoke to the press on the sidelines of the workshop “Women in the Cape Verdean Judicial System”, an event held in Praia in partnership with the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSMJ) to mark the International Day of Women Judges, celebrated on March 10.

According to the official, the initiative aims to create a space for reflection on the challenges of reconciling professional and family life in a context where the Cape Verdean judiciary is predominantly young and female.

“The creation of this cell will make it possible to take the discussion to the Portuguese-speaking level and promote the integration of our judges in the International Association of Women Judges,” he added.
