Cabo Verde present at the 70th Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women

City of Praia, 09 Mar (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde is participating in the 70th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70), taking place from today until the 19th in New York, with a delegation led by the Minister of State for Family, Inclusion and Social Development.

Under the theme “Rights, Justice and Action – for all women and girls”, the session brings together representatives of Member States, United Nations entities and civil society organizations from around the world.

The objective, according to a press release from the Ministry of Family, Inclusion and Social Development, is to debate and strengthen global commitments in favour of gender equality, the promotion of the rights of women and girls, and access to justice.

During the session, global priorities will be discussed and agreed conclusions negotiated that will guide international policies and actions to accelerate progress in gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.
