Tomar, 04 Mar (Inforpress) – Portuguese researcher Jorge Malheiros highlighted on Tuesday in Tomar the contribution of the Cape Verdean associative network to promoting integration and improving the quality of life of immigrants in Portugal.

The university professor, author of a study on the Cape Verdean associative network in Portugal, made the statements to Inforpress on the sidelines of the international conference on “Migration: integration and public services in the digital era,” taking place from today until Wednesday, 04, at the Doutor José Bayolo Pacheco de Amorim Auditorium at the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar.

According to the researcher, the Cape Verdean associative network is “rich, longstanding and highly experienced,” playing an active role in influencing public policies related to immigration.

As he explained, through their participation, these organisations with an established track record seek to ensure that political leaders incorporate into legislation and its implementation the processes that allow better conditions for immigrants.
