City of Praia, Mar 03 (Inforpress) – The Atlantic Music Expo (AME) returns on 06 April with between 120 and 125 countries represented among artists, delegates and professionals, in an edition marked by the strong presence of national artists.

The information was provided today by the AME Director-General, Benito Lopes, during the presentation of the event, noting that this year 50 per cent (%) of the selected artists are Cape Verdean, “most already with established careers”, representing a significant shift compared to previous editions, traditionally marked by a greater presence of emerging artists.

The 2026 edition officially begins on 06 April with the opening ceremony at the National Auditorium, preceded by conferences at the Palace. As customary, the first day will be dedicated to the presentation of artists, journalists, delegates, civil society and partners.

Among the programme highlights is the participation of a representative of Rock in Rio, considered one of the largest music events in the world, whose presence in Cabo Verde is regarded as a milestone for AME and for the national music sector.
