Maio: Municipal market hosts third edition of Finka Pê Fair

Porto Inglês, Feb 10 (Inforpress) – The municipal market of Porto Inglês, on the island of Maio, will host next Saturday the third edition of the “Finka Pê” fair, an initiative that combines support for local production with cultural celebrations, the local authority announced today.

Scheduled for 14 February, the event is dedicated to the celebration of Valentine’s Day and Ash Wednesday, seeking to give “greater visibility” to the island’s economic agents, ranging from farmers and livestock breeders to artisans and fish vendors.

In a statement, the Maio Municipal Council stressed that the fair, with an agri-food and cultural focus, aims primarily to “encourage local production, boost sales and strengthen family economies”.

The initiative also seeks to promote the island’s culture and gastronomy, serving as a showcase for food production cooperatives and small local traders.
