Praia, Feb 04 (Inforpress) – Today, the members of parliament from MpD elected for the Santiago Sul constituency expressed “concern over non-compliance” with the implementation of the national minimum wage in some City councils and are calling for measures to put an end to the situation.
The statements were made by the spokesperson of the Movimento para a Democracia (MpD, ruling party) MPs, Alcides Pina, after a meeting with the Directorate-General for Labour to assess the matter.
“We are closing a cycle of contacts with institutions to verify the level of implementation of the minimum wage nationwide, and today we note with satisfaction that within the public administration the process is practically completed,” he said.
However, he regretted that the situation in local authorities continues to concern his party, citing, according to him, the municipal councils of Praia and São Domingos.
