Praia, Feb 04 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Justice, Joana Rosa, said today that the awarding of certificates and kits to young people constitutes a structured intervention to combat social exclusion among youths from peripheral areas who lack vocational training.

She made the statements to journalists during the presentation of certificates and training kits to 29 young people who completed courses in drywall installation and plumbing under the “Ami ê di Paz y Bô” (I am peace, and you?) project, an initiative of the Ministry of Justice.

According to the minister, the project was designed to respond to the reality faced by many young people, where lack of employment leads them into criminal activities within their neighbourhoods.

“When we developed this project, we assumed that we would be working with young people to create an environment of peace within communities, but above all through the empowerment of these youths,” she stressed.
