Lisbon, Feb 02 (Inforpress) – Cape Verdean researcher Eliane Sanches, recently awarded a PhD with distinction by the University of Coimbra, today expressed her intention to return to the archipelago to contribute to the consolidation of scientific research and higher education.
Speaking to Inforpress from Coimbra, the 31-year-old researcher, a native of the city of Praia, recalled that Cabo Verde is part of her identity and that she feels a strong commitment to place the knowledge acquired internationally at the service of the archipelago, both in teaching and scientific research.
“I deeply believe in the importance of contributing to the scientific and academic development of Cabo Verde. In the future, I would like to share the knowledge and experience gained during my PhD, as well as during my undergraduate and master’s studies,” she said.
According to Eliane Sanches, this contribution could materialize through teaching, training new researchers and, above all, creating “collaborative bridges” between national institutions and foreign research centers.
