Espargos, Feb 02 (Inforpress) – Sal Island will once again become the epicenter of world kitesurfing with the hosting of the “GKA Kitesurf World Cup Cabo Verde,” scheduled to take place from February 16 to 21 at Ponta Preta beach.

The event, which brings together the world’s top athletes, marks the official opening of the 2026 international calendar of the Global Kitesports Association (GKA).

In an interview, event organizer Djô Silva, from Nautic Sport Events, explained that the competition is part of the 2026 world kitesurf circuit, a year in which the discipline opens and closes the GKA season, within a calendar comprising five international events.

“In February, we will bring the world’s best kitesurfers to compete in the first event of the 2026 circuit, here on Sal Island,” he emphasized.
