28/01/26 - 12:25 pm

Praia, Jan 28 (Inforpress) – The city of Praia will host, in the first week of October, the first National Forum on Animal Health and Welfare, an initiative by the Bons-Amigos Association aimed at placing animal protection on the public agenda and strengthening awareness-raising campaigns.

The information was provided today to Inforpress by the association’s president, Madueno Cardoso, who explained that the initiative is part of the celebrations marking World Animal Day, observed annually on October 4.

According to Cardoso, the forum is intended to be a space for in-depth reflection on the current state of animal welfare in the archipelago, serving to “remind authorities and civil society” of the importance of care and respect for animal species.

“The purpose of the forum is to bring together and discuss ideas, assess where we stand and determine where we want to go in terms of animal health and welfare,” the association’s president said, stressing the need for a “deeper understanding” of the national reality in this sector.
