
Praia, Jan 27 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verde senior men’s national handball team faces Tunisia today in Kigali (Rwanda) in a decisive main-round match that will determine qualification for the final of the African Cup of Nations (CAN’2026).
The match, scheduled for 7:00 p.m. local time (4:00 p.m. in Cabo Verde), counts for the second main-round game and follows four victories in four matches played by the “Blue Sharks.”
After topping Group D with wins over Congo, Morocco and Benin, the national team secured qualification for the semifinals and the 2027 World Championship by defeating Guinea-Conakry on Sunday the 25th.
According to information from the Cape Verdean Handball Federation, ahead of the decisive match the national delegation used Monday’s rest day for an official visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a gesture of “respect, remembrance and reflection.”
