Lisbon, Jan 20 (Inforpress) – The Liminare Gallery, in Lumiar, Lisbon (Portugal), is hosting, from today, January 20, until January 29, a travelling exhibition commemorating the 53rd anniversary of the death of Amílcar Cabral.

“Amílcar Cabral, an Exhibition” will be inaugurated at 6:00 p.m. and will be attended by historian and researcher Victor Barros, from the Institute of Contemporary History and co-coordinator of the work “The World of Amílcar Cabral,” a publication supported by the 50th Anniversary of April 25 Commemorative Committee.

Promoted by the 50th Anniversary of April 25 Commemorative Committee and the Lumiar Parish Council, the initiative offers a journey through the life, thought and political action of Amílcar Cabral, a central figure in African anti-colonial struggles and a major reference in 20th-century political thought.

According to the organisers, the exhibition also highlights the international dimension of his action and how the struggles against colonialism mobilised people, networks and institutions, leaving a lasting legacy in the history of African independence and Portuguese democracy.
