Mosteiros: “Beco Literário” is one of the municipality’s most iconic cultural events – Fábio Vieira

São Filipe, Nov 18 (Inforpress) – The “Beco Literário – Mosteiros Book Festival” is one of the municipality’s most iconic cultural events, said on Monday the 17th the mayor of the Municipality of Mosteiros, Fábio Vieira, during the opening of the fourth edition of the festival.

According to him, this year’s edition takes on “special meaning” as it integrates the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of National Independence.

Fábio Vieira emphasized that the event pays tribute to all those who, in the past, used the written word “as a powerful weapon of struggle” for the emancipation of Cabo Verdeans, and reinforced the collective commitment to freedom and the appreciation of national literature.

He added that the “Beco Literário” is a central part of “a consolidated cultural strategy,” focused on promoting creative writing, reading, and valuing Cabo Verdean writers.
