Praia, Oct 6 (Inforpress) – Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Silva highlighted, on Saturday, in Madrid, the "invaluable contribution" of the Cape Verdean diaspora living in Spain to national development, reaffirming the Government's commitment to strengthening ties with emigrant communities.

The meeting with the diaspora took place in the Spanish capital as part of the official visit that Ulisses Correia e Silva is making to Spain from October 3rd to 8th, and which will culminate with his participation in the Open Government Partnership 2025 (OGP) Global Summit in Bilbao on the 7th.

The head of government, according to a post published on his official Facebook page, made a point of highlighting the role of Cape Verdeans abroad, who elevate the name of the archipelago in a wide range of areas, including sports, medicine, science, business and culture.

Ulisses Correia e Silva reaffirmed the importance of emigrant communities in building an “increasingly prosperous and inclusive” Cabo Verde, and the Government’s continued commitment to strengthening the connection between the country and the diaspora.
