Special Economic Zone olf Fogo has an “ambitious vision” for the island’s sustainable transformation – study

São Filipe, July 23 (Inforpress) – The Special Economic Zone of Fogo (ZEEF) aims to position the island as a competitive destination for sustainable investments in the agribusiness, tourism and blue economy sectors, with a "courageous and transformative vision", supports the ZEEF Plan.

ZEEF, which is aligned with sustainable development commitments and the 2030 Agenda, seeks to boost the local economy with quality, innovation and social inclusion.

The document, already open for public consultation in the island's three municipalities, and to which Inforpress had access, indicates that ZEEF's vision is based on the economic transformation of Fogo Island, taking advantage of its "unique natural and cultural resources", with emphasis on its "imposing active volcano and the ecological wealth" of the Biosphere Reserve.

The plan aims to attract strategic investments, promote entrepreneurship, and strengthen local capabilities, with a strong focus on environmental, economic, and social sustainability.
