CPLP Games: Cabo Verde defeats Portugal and Mozambique in men's and women's 3x3 basketball

Praia, July 22 (Inforpress) - The Cabo Verde men's and women's 3x3 basketball teams got off to a flying start today in their participation in the CPLP Games in Dili (East Timor), with victories against Portugal and Mozambique, respectively.

In the men's competition, according to information provided by the Institute of Sport and Youth (IDJ), the Cape Verdean team recorded a victory considered significant by 18-12 against their counterparts from Portugal, while in the women's competition, Cabo Verde beat Mozambique by 13-11.

The Sports Games of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) bring together young athletes from Portuguese-speaking countries in various sports, promoting coexistence, cultural exchange and sporting spirit among the member states of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries.

Cabo Verde currently has eight medals, all won in athletics, of which four are silver and four are bronze.
