CPLP Games: Cabo Verde wins five medals in athletics

Praia, Jul 21 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde stood on the podium five times in the athletics events at the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) 2025 Games in East Timor, winning three silver medals and two bronze medals.

According to the Institute of Sport and Youth (IDJ), athlete Sasha Semedo won the silver medal in the weight throw, while Marina Delgado also secured second place in the women's 3,000 metres.

Alerson Silva also took second place on the podium, winning silver in the men's 1,500 metres.

In the speed events, Silvanilda Gomes won the bronze medal in the women's 100 metres, while Kenny Ramos took bronze in the same event on the men's side.
