Mindelo, July 18 (Inforpress) – Around 40 social workers, including those from the São Vicente Health Department, the Ministry of Education, and various institutions and communities on the island, completed training today in Mindelo to identify trauma in children.

The training, organized by SOS Children's Villages in São Vicente, took place over two days in the Technical School auditorium, after having been held in Praia.

According to the Secretary of State for Social Inclusion, Lídia Lima, who presided over the closing of the training, this is yet another effort to ensure better protection for children.

According to the government official, this protection has to be done not only in terms of foster care, but also with interventions in psychological counselling that deal with the emotional aspect of the child.
