Cenorf wants to speed up delivery of wheelchairs to ensure greater accessibility

Praia, Jul 14 (Inforpress) - The head of Cenorf said that the institution's focus is to speed up the

processes of assessment, prescription and delivery of wheelchairs, to ensure that more people

in need have access to this equipment.

Bernardino Gonçalves, who was speaking to Inforpress, said that the measure is part of the

tripartite agreement between the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Ministry of

Health and Cenorf, which aims to make wheelchairs available to those most in need. 

‘Right now our focus is on speeding up the assessment, prescription and delivery, so that we

can actually have access to more chairs, because we have people who need wheelchairs,’ he

said.

According to the chairman of the board of the National Orthopaedic and Functional

Reeducation Centre (Cenorf), the first phase of the project involved training physiotherapists,

nurses and technicians from the health districts.
