Strike: CV Handling workers denounce violation of internal protocols and warn of security risks

Praia, Jul 11 (Inforpress) - Today, the workers at CV Handling accused the company's management of violating internal procedures and protocols by allocating employees without technical skills to different functions, compromising the safety of workers, passengers and aircraft.

On this second day of the four-days strike taking place at Nelson Mandela Airport, spokesman and union delegate Ailton Martins said that the strike has been joined by around 60 to 70 per cent, even with the company bringing in outsiders and allocating staff without adequate training for the job.

He emphasised that this measure ‘violates internal regulations’ and represents ‘a serious risk’ to operational safety.

Ailton Martins called on the Civil Aviation Authority (AAC) to keep a close eye on these practices, pointing out that the agency is responsible for controlling access and monitoring people travelling in restricted areas of the airport.
