World Population Day: Report highlights global fertility crisis

Praia, Jul 11 (Inforpress) – The report of this year State of the World's Population warns of an unprecedented decline in global fertility rates and highlights a ‘real fertility crisis’.

The report released by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) as part of today's World Population Day considers that fertility declines are currently making headlines, with women often blamed for these demographic changes.

The document indicates that some governments are taking ‘drastic’ measures to encourage young people to make fertility decisions in line with national objectives.

He also added that the real crisis is that the most consequential reproductive decision a human being can make is when to have a child and with whom, is being ‘undermined’.
