The City Council of Praia reaffirms support for ARFSS after historic victory in the 2025 Independence Cup

Praia, July 11 (Inforpress) –Today, the City Council of Praia (CMP) reaffirmed its commitment to the development of football in South Santiago, following the winning of the 2025 Independence Cup by the South Santiago team.

At the first meeting with the Santiago South Regional Football Association (ARFSS) after winning the 2025 Independence Cup, sports councillor Óscar Rodrigues expressed the municipality's pride in the achievement of the Santiago national team and said that investment in sport is a priority for the municipality.

‘For us, it's a matter of pride (...), we're investing more and more in sport, not just to make champions, but also to valorise the efforts of our athletes and our association,’ he stressed.

When asked about the concrete support provided by the city council to the team, the councillor revealed that the municipality had contributed ten plane tickets.
