Porto Novo: Producers from Tarrafal de Monte Trigo stop exporting grog to Europe

Porto Novo, Jul 10 (Inforpress) - Grog producers in Tarrafal de Monte Trigo, Porto Novo, Santo Antão, stopped exporting to Europe some time ago, after a process led by local company Música e Grogue.

The death of the representative of the company Música e Grogue affected the process, according to producer Graciano Évora, who said that the grog ‘made in’ Tarrafal de Monte Trigo is only being commercialised on the national market.

The producer told Inforpress that the export of grog from Tarrafal de Monte Trigo to Europe, more precisely to the French market, which began in 2018, has now been interrupted and that he doesn't know when exports will resume.

In the valley Tarrafal de Monte Trigo, known for the ‘excellent quality’ grog it produces, some producers are betting on bottling this product, which is also highly sought after by tourists.
