Santiago Norte: Seminar aims to gather input and recommendations for better structure and organization of university sports - minister

Assomada, July 10 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Sports said today that the seminar on university sports, taking place at the University of Santiago (US), in Assomada, aims to gather input and recommendations for a better structure and organization of sports in this area.

Carlos Monteiro was speaking at the opening of the Seminar on University Sports in Cabo Verde, an initiative of the Institute of Sports and Youth (IDJ), in partnership with the University of Santiago, other higher education institutions and national sports organizations.

The initiative seeks to gather input and recommendations to strengthen the university sports system in the country.

The Prime Minister's Assistant Minister for Youth and Sport emphasised that the seminar was an opportunity to reflect on public policies and strategies for boosting sport in higher education. He also emphasised the role of federations, such as the National University Sports Federation (FNDU), in promoting ‘inclusive, structured and representative’ sport.
