Nursing: Nursing coordinator at Uni-CV calls for more investment to guarantee better healthcare

Praia, May 14 (Inforpress) - The coordinator of the nursing disciplinary group at the University of Cabo Verde (Uni-CV), Helga Carvalho, argued today that investing in nursing means guaranteeing quality healthcare and contributing to strengthening the national economy.

“The health needs of the population are constantly changing, requiring more qualification and greater attention in terms of family and community care”, highlighted Helga Carvalho, in statements to the press, on the sidelines of the fifth Academic Nursing Conference, held at the Uni-CV Campus, in Praia.

She explained that investing in nursing graduates is helping to ensure that professionals are better prepared to contribute to improving the level of health in Cabo Verde.

In this context, Helga Carvalho emphasised that the day represents a space for reflection between students and health professionals, with the aim of ‘strengthening nursing as a science and a disciplinary area’, and thinking about the practices that need to be strengthened in order to improve health levels in the country.
