Health: Nova Onda Foundation has trained more than 600 people as first aiders in Santo Antão

Porto Novo, Apr 7 (Inforpress) - The Nova Onda Foundation (Netherlands) has already trained more than 600 people in Santo Antão as first responders as part of a project it has been implementing on the island for a year, the foundation's representative said today.

Sophie Koster, who was speaking during the handover of an automatic external defibrillator to the Porto Novo health centre, said that the Nova Onda Foundation arose from a need to help the people of Santo Antão with first aid.

In this context, she decided to implement a project on the island in which he has been training first responders and donating automatic external defibrillators to health centres to save lives in emergency situations.

The training of first aiders has been carried out in partnership with the company First Aid Assist from the Netherlands, run by first aid instructor Soejay Lalai, who has donated essential supplies to the foundation, including dolls for adults, children and babies for the training programmes.
