São Vicente/Municipal Assembly: PAICV talks about “works in Santa Engrácia” and Augusto Neves “in no hurry” to complete

Mindelo, Mar 20 (Inforpress) – The parliamentary leader of the PAICV in the Municipal Assembly of São Vicente today criticized the mayor for maintaining several “Santa Engrácia works”, while Augusto Neves said there was no rush to reach conclusions.

Nilton Silva was speaking to the press following a political statement by the opposition party in the period before the agenda, in the first ordinary session after the local elections.

He pointed to the building of the former Registry and Notary Office on Rua 05 de Julho as na example, as well as the sports centre in the northern area of Chã de Alecrim, whose

foundation stone was laid ‘more than 20 years ago and has not been completed’, and the ‘abandoned’ multipurpose centres in Chã de Alecrim and Fonte Francês.

‘For example, we have a lot of social housing that was launched at the time of the campaign and is there only with plaques and piles of stones,’ added Nilton Silva, referring to the response received from the mayor that this is due to a lack of funds.
