Fogo/Accident: MpD parliamentary group will organise a blood donation campaign

São Filipe, September 8 (Inforpress) - The parliamentary group of the Movement for Democracy (MpD, opposition) will promote an awareness campaign for blood donation, following the road accident that occurred on Saturday, which caused 25 deaths and 14 injuries.

The announcement was made by leader Luís Carlos Silva on Monday evening, the 7th, after visiting some families of the victims of the tragedy that shook the entire island of Fogo.

"The situation is one of profound sadness, unimaginable sadness; the magnitude of this tragedy is beyond words, and we have no words to console the families," he said.

According to the same source, the purpose of the trip to Fogo Island is to express the parliamentary group's solidarity and to experience first-hand the reality and scale of the tragedy that has affected many families and left the entire community immersed in sadness.
