The Garah Foundation trains 20 people in recovery to strengthen drug prevention and social reintegration

Praia, 31 August (Inforpress) – Today, in Praia, the Garah Foundation launched a training programme for 20 people undergoing rehabilitation from addiction, focusing on community leadership, emotional management, communication and the prevention of drug use.

The initiative, which runs until 4 September, aims to equip participants with the skills to engage with communities and support awareness-raising activities, particularly amongst young people in vulnerable situations.

On that occasion, the Minister of Justice, Clóvis da Silva, described the participants as partners of the State in crime prevention, as they possess life experience which, according to the minister, cannot be replaced solely by knowledge imparted through training. 

“No matter how much we train people, we will never be able to pass on the experience they have gained,” he said.
