Santa Catarina do Fogo: City Council invests 5,700 contos in the refurbishment of a nursery school and community centre

São Filipe, 13 August (Inforpress) – The City Council of Santa Catarina do Fogo has signed the contract for the refurbishment of the Carlos Andrade Nursery School and Community Centre in the village of Roçadas, representing an investment of 5,780 contos.

The contract was awarded to the company Construção Andrade Ribeiro, following a restricted tender launched by the municipality for the renovation works and improvement of the site’s conditions, with an estimated completion period of 60 working days.

The project forms part of the funding allocated to education projects, as part of the cooperation between the Santa Catarina do Fogo Municipal Council and the Luxembourg-based non-governmental organisation Beetebuerg Helleft.

According to the local authority, the project aims to improve the infrastructure conditions, which plays "an important role," both in supporting early childhood education and in developing community-based activities.
