Gamboa Games kicks off today with seven sports and is committed to promoting sport in Praia

Praia, 12 August (Inforpress) – From 4.00 pm, Gamboa Beach will host another edition of the Gamboa Games, an initiative organised by City Council of Praia, featuring competitions in seven sports in order to encourage people to take part in sport.

The event also focuses primarily on healthy socialising and the use of public spaces by young people.

The opening ceremony will be presided over by the Mayor of Praia, Fernando Pinto, in the Gamboa area, where all the necessary facilities have been set up to welcome athletes, teams and the public.

The event includes football, volleyball, handball, tennis, teqball, swimming and traditional games, with various teams taking part in a competitive programme covering a range of sports.
