Praia, May 30 (Inforpress) – The ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark, Lars Faaborg Andersen, delivered this Wednesday to the President of the Republic, Jorge Carlos Fonseca, the letters accrediting him as the representative of his country in Cabo Verde.
Speaking to the press, the diplomat living in Lisbon, Portugal, referred to the lines of cooperation that the two countries could develop, namely in the areas of trade, renewable energy and blue economy.
As he pointed out, Denmark is a great power in the blue economy, and in his view, Cabo Verde could play a “key role” in Africa, so they will pass on their experiences and knowledge to Africa.
Regarding trade, Lars Faaborg Andersen said that the first step is to make companies in Portugal interested in investing and doing business in Cabo Verde because, in his view, it is easier to attract companies that speak Portuguese and who know the culture of Cabo Verde to collaborate.
Regarding education cooperation, which formerly existed between the two countries through Bornefonden, the diplomat assured that, at this early stage, there is no state plan for cooperation between the two countries in this sector and if it does exist it may be through non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
