Praia, Mar 21 (Inforpress) – The Association for the Defense of Environment and Development (ADAD) is “confident” that Cabo Verde will be able to reach the goal of planting 8 million trees by 2030.
The intention was expressed by the president of the Association for the Defense of the Environment and Development (ADAD), Januário Nascimento, who spoke to Inforpress during the International Forest and Tree Day celebrated today, March 21, under the theme “The trees and schools”.
According to the official, this is a challenge that concerns everyone and requires engagement and a “Djunta mô” (mutual help) between schools, non-governmental organizations, City Halls, government and society in general, which is a “very good” initiative for the well-being of the environment and the future of the country and the world.
“We need to accelerate the campaign to plant trees and raise awareness of a much better environment”, said Januário Nascimento, who was confident that Cabo Verde could achieve the goal of planting 8 million trees by 2030 and honoring the commitment made at the Paris Climate Summit.
